I am starting this thread for the people who are Greencard Holders and not married. Please share some thoughts for bringing their spouse here.
IV can help in this matter.
If all visa holders and citizens can bring their spouse instantly then why GC holder have to wait for many years after getting GC after many years.

As of July 24, 2009, approximately 44,900 H-1B cap-subject petitions have been received by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and counted towards the H-1B cap. Since I am a canadian citizen, I do not require a visa for US and hence I don't have a H1B visa stamped on my passport.
Since you know this point, I am sure the American Visa Officer working in various consulates, too, would know this. If not, send a copy of the law that says "Canadian citizens do not need Visa to enter US".

So far, the USCIS has announced that it received 5,900 H-1B applications for the normal quota and an additional 4,500 for the advanced degree quota. These numbers were released yesterday, April 7, 2011.
In years past, many remember that the H-1B quota was exhausted as early as the first day of applications. Last year, the H-1B cap was not reached until January the following year. I would anticipate that with the economy still rebounding, the H-1B quota will last a significant amount of time. This will also ensure that everyone who can find a job offer this year will have a chance to make an H-1B application. Hi
I want to transfer my H1-b from a consultant company to a non-profilt organization which is offering me a full time job. I haven't resigned my job at consultant company yet. The LCA process is going on with new non-profilt organisation and then they are going to apply for H-1B petition soon. I am worried if the consultant company will cancel my visa as soon as I resign and that would cause issues for the H-1b transfer. Please advice when is it safe time to resign and start my new job.

Hello,
My wife had misplaced her AP summer of last year when she was out of the country. She then entered back on Transportation letter however at poe the immigration officer assumed she was a resident misplaced her resident card and stamped her passport as LPR. Since her entry back in the summer of last year we have gained an extension of H4 status for 3 years. I am getting ready to file for a new AP and would like to know if I should writeH4 as her "Class of Submission" or LPR or AP

Senior members & Experts , please clarify on this issue
1. I'm AOS aplicant currently working with company X in US and planning to go to abroad and work for other employer Y for 1 year in abroad. Once I come back to US ,can i join with employer X on H1B and continue with GC processing?
If above can't be done
2. Assuming I withdraw my 485,so i will on H1B status. If H1B applicant currently working with company X in US and work for other employer Y for 1 year in abroad. Once I come back to US ,can i join with employer X on H1B and later continue with GC processing? - or H1B status abandon as soon as i change employment in Abroad
Please provide your suggestions

The consulate cannot approve you for permanent residence if there are no visa numbers available. Priority dates apply whether you do AOS or CP.
