He's been an advocate on backlog issues, and his staff had helped look into my case last year. I used his web site to send him an email (for VA residents only), slightly modifying the phone script to thank him, since I finally got my green card in November. Will post response when I receive it.

Hope after 5 long years , my GC ambition will be completed this time. All the best for rest of the folks!!!

that might be your attitude. some people have a different opinion and dont like to bend over when circumstances try to screw them. If you pay for something and get a lemon you might be ok with living with it and moving on, saying its non-refundable. Many others dont share that view. They'll fight for a replacement, a fix, some solution to the problem.
If all you can do is bend over, then move on, you are wasting your time on IV.

I am not understanding if sending DL is an issue or your concern is just over why USCIS is even asking for it?? USCIS does lot of things in unexpected way.. so I won't be surprised...

Just imagine one thing... U have a family. Someone from the outside doesn't like the way you are treating ur wife and asks u to divorce ur wife. How wud u feel? U r a NOBODY. Dont u get it? filed LC in 2003 thinking it would be useful to stay on H1 as long as possible!! and the rest is on my profile..
I wonder if anybody thinks it makes sense to create a law which simply says after 15 (or some X years) of legal presence in the US you will be given a GC no matter the back ground! In that way we know exactly where the deadline is irrespective of some government agency's whim.
to make it more arbitrable, how about if one completes the 40 tax credits and is clean of criminal records.

Who ever has got the idea of striking, picketing or hunger strike, it will not work here. Lobbying is the only way out for us. Well I guess someone has taken a cue from Mamta Benerjee. Well it surely works in India but not in United States.

Yes the bulletin is pretty detailed. Explaining logic behind per country limit and movement of cutoff dates. Certainly a first in a Visa Bulletin.
Needless to say, CIR with provisions to address this backlog is the only hope for both i REITERATE - BOTH EB2 as well as EB3... divisiveness will certainly lead to failure or atleast a never ending wait for some of us....

1. MTR -USCIS fee$585, Lawyer fee vary between $750 to $3500. Dependents another $500 extra in lawyer fee
2. US court no idea - but RG website says they take cases free of charges if case is strong as they can get attorney fee from USCIS..

:(Bad News is all of us who applied for EAD renewal after June 30th wouldnt get a 2 years EAD instead would get 1 year EAD.

india, china have retro for both EB2 and EB3
mexico, philippines and bunch of other countries have retro for EB3
PERM is only for the Primary applicant. For I-485 every dependent of Primary applicant needs one separate application
Considering all these 750,000 I-485 filings in next 1 month sounds a reasonable estimate.
