I have replied to my I-485 RFE and the case status on USCIS website has changed from "RFE sent..." to "On June 2, 2009, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you...."
I am EB-3 India Oct 2004 PD. So not likely that my case status will change to "Approved" any time sooner. Do any one know if the status will change to any thing else before changing to "Approved" ? What I am trying to understand is if the case status will be updated on the website to state some thing that reflects that they accepted my answer in the RFE response.

I recently got my I797 approved (on Oct 19) but, the USCIS denied my extension of stay, and I need to go for stamping in Chennai (as per I797). My question:
1. Can I attend the interview in Canada/Hyderabad consulate instead of Chennai. Company attorney said that should be ok and filing I824 for change of consulate would take long.
In case you wanted to know more details about my case:
-Possess I797 from Employer A until Nov13, 2009.
-Filed for H1b extension with Employer B in Feb, denied in Jun15. payroll with Emp B Feb onwards.
-Re-filed for extn with Emp B in Aug4 finally approved on Oct19 but denied extn of stay.

Hi,
Currently I am on H1B visa.I will file my 485 as secondary applicant.What are my options in case If I have to leave my job and my 485 is still not approved.
Do I need to file H4 (Since 485 is still not approved) ?

You can status will be Adjustment of Status ( AOS ) but cant work . IYou need a APO if you want to travel . If you want to work you need an EAD .
Check with attorney .This is the essence of mail which i got from my attorney when asked regarding my son status

It means Advance Parole. You will be eligible to apply for AP if your application for adjustment of status is pending with USCIS, and you need this document to re enter the US from overseas travel.

Has anyone seen this pattern before for any service center? A "processing times" entry missing? Could this be just an accident, or are they sending the I-140's to another service center? This could mean a LOT to people who sent their I-140's and I-485's concurrently to TSC.

I m not sure but I think he has to wait till he gets his citizenship . The other way to apply for Tourist or student visa. Tourist visa will be for short time and student visa will be hard to get if the Husband is Green Card holder.

Please help me with online address change for CA DMV:
My current license expires in May 2010. I moved recently. If I change my address using CA-DMV�s online change of address process, Will I be able to renew my driver license online during renewal time (feb 2010)?
Whats the process for updating the address of the vehicle so that vehicle registration renewal (expected in Jan 2010) comes to the new address?

Have we taken in to account these action items
1) Improve Overall GC Process time.
2) Re-use all unused visa's that went in vain in past
3) Count each family as one visa instead of each for each family member.
And What do we need to do as a member of IV to lobby these changes.

You should be able to contiue your GC without interruption even if you did not work for the sponsoring employer. but just make sure you are employed with the sponsoring employer before filing for I-485.
You may need a new H1 to go back to the previous employer. But GC should not be affected.

Checked with my lawyer who also happened to be ex-IO officer. According to her it could be because of NC clearance...
