The antis will tell you that if we could only get rid of cheap foreign workers, Americans would be lining up to take the jobs. An article this past week in the Wall Street Journal shows a different reality. The piece focuses on the dairy industry which is completely dependent on immigrant labor even in a major recession. And dairy is pretty similar to other agricultural fields. US workers are simply not desperate enough to take on these physically demanding jobs in remote rural locations. I see that India got around 27400 Gcs. Does it mean spill over was happening during FY 2007? I was under the impression it started since FY 2008.

According to CNN, America could be facing a nursing shortage that will worsen exponentially as the population grows older. The problem: Baby boomers are getting older and will require more care than ever, taxing an already strained nursing system.
Barry Pactor, international director of global health care for consulting company HCL International, agrees that more nurses should be trained within the U.S. system. But as a short term solution for this "huge shortage," he said the U.S. government should loosen immigration restrictions on foreign health care workers. "I don't see this as foreign nurses taking American jobs, because these are vacancies that already exist and cannot be [filled] by nurses currently in training," he said. "We'd be filling in the gaps until the training can catch up with the demand."

Many of us (including me) are frustrated in waiting for NSC approval of I-140.

I saw soft LUDs on all our applications at NSC (pending 485s, 131s and approved 765s) on 12/12 and 12/15. This should mean some sort of system update on NSC, is it ? or should I look forward to good/bad news :confused: ? My PD is nowhere close to the current cut off date for EB2-I.

Guys,
I had received FP notice 2 days ago and my FP date is after 3 weeks. I was getting ready to try to do it early but I just received Card Production Ordered email for both my spouse and myself. What do I do now? Do I need to still go for the FP after 3 weeks.
I am not sure why they would send me the FP notice if they wanted to approve my GC.

Yes, it uses the same mount. Newer lenses usually have more data that is passed to the camera body such as distance, etc.. I'm not a Nikon person anymore, so double check of course!

Nikon is taking their time with this one, as they're taking their time with the WT-3 transmitter for the D200. I am interested, but by now I've invested a bit too heavily in a DNG-based workflow by converting everything to DNG and attaching IPTC metadata, to consider Capture NX as a serious contender for my workflow. Though, I do imagine that I'd use it for those rare times when I need a really high quality conversion for very large printing.
